Boy King

Blackbeerd Imperial Stout originally put COAST on the beer geek map proper, but once the second batch of Boy King came out, all bets were off.  This beer was an early showcase for Citra hops, bringing a disturbing amount of tropical fruit flavor to the table.  It shot up the rankings at BeerAdvocate until reaching the mid 50's in their Top 100 Beer on the Planet list. Lucky for locals it's not only made its way into bottles, it's become a multi-season seasonal brewed more than once a year. All hail.

The April 2012 release saw an increase in ABV, tipping the 10% point, and a double-dose of dry-hopping taboot.
