The City Paper Beer Issue
by timmons / Oct 03, 2012This year, the City Paper folks were kind enough to include us in their annual Beer Issue. What we didn't know was that the essay I wrote would be the Feature Story, so double thanks!!
Thanks also specifically to our friend and City Paper food writer Eric Doksa for putting our names in the hat, and Managing Editor Chris Haire for being cool to work with via e-mail (a MUST for us).
Here are some links to the online versions, but the print copy is out today too:

Our friend and guest blogger, Professor Brandon "Old Time" Plyler, had two pieces in the issue:
Eric also contributed a great pumpkin beer roundup, just in time for fall(ish) weather!
*Editor's Note: As an Editor, writing an Editor's Note, I understand especially with print that editing submitted text is a necessity, and have NO issues with the final product (hence the double thanks). But it is an editorial with my name on it, so I'd just like to clarify one thing. The final text, describing beer events gone awry, reads:
"If you ever get the feeling that you've paid to take part in an elaborate, lame commercial for a particular brand or brewery, then chances are you are at one of the area's craft beer busts."
Originally, that read "...an elaborate, lame commercial for a particular brand, or particular distributor's brands..."
I had no intention of disparaging breweries, especially our local ones. Luckily, their events don't feel like elaborate, lame commercials, so it's not a big deal.
