Folly Beach Brew Pub
- Andy Cope - co-owner
The Folly Beach area has a number of watering holes, but the craft beer seeker need look no further than Folly Beach Brewpub to grab a pint after a day of sand and surf (dude). The tiny bar is located right on Center Street, the main drag leading from all parts to water.
Inside you'll find a cozy room with a wooden bar and a handful of stools and tables. Six taps pour quality American beer, tending toward the hoppy, and a cooler accesible to patrons stores a solid bottle selection. There's no kitchen, but they'll gladly order food for you from nearby spots, and they team up with the occasional food truck. This format is largely the same as their sister location, Oak Barrel Tavern, as the two spots share a co-owner.
The "Brewpub" moniker is correct, as they are a licensed brewpub and do brew on-premise, but house-made beer is not always available, nor is there any specific staple style for them. It's essentialy a "brew what we want, when we want" situation, which fits the beach, but it's a tough putt for folks that don't live nearby to keep up.
